The Nitish government in Bihar has once again given a big gift to its people i.e., the Darbhanga Airport. In the meeting of the Bihar cabinet held on Monday, 336.76 crores have been approved for compensation regarding the acquisition of land including the required 78 acres of land for this airport. In this, the civil enclave will be constructed in 54 acres, while the instrument landing system will be installed in the remaining land area to ensure that the air service doesn’t get interrupted even in foggy weather.
There is a wave of happiness that can be witnessed in the people of Mithilanchal due to this addition of the Bihar cabinet for Darbhanga. Now the dream of the people of the Mithila region to have an international airport will be fulfilled soon. With the introduction of civil air service from the airport in Darbhanga, not only did Mithila residents get the benefit of air service, but the doors of new business opportunities have also opened in Darbhanga. At present 10 to 12 planes do the rounds from the metro cities to Darbhanga daily.
For the first time during the litchi season, when the aircraft took off from Darbhanga airport under Krishi Udan, in which the famous litchis from Muzaffarpur were sent to Mumbai, there was happiness among the farmers. The continuous movement of passengers at the Darbhanga airport is setting new records. Air service was started from Darbhanga on 8th November 2020 and by 2nd September 2021, more than four lakh passengers had traveled from here.
Every day 10 to 12 aircrafts move to the airport and 1500 to 2500 passengers come and go. People are getting special benefits due to the opening of this new Darbhanga airport.
