The External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar told that the first flight to Mumbai with 219 Indians evacuated from Ukraine has left from Romania. He added that “Regarding evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine, we are making progress. Our teams are working on the ground round the clock. I am personally monitoring. The first flight to Mumbai with 219 Indian nationals has taken off from Romania.”
Now the government has started to put in vigorous efforts to expel all these people from Ukraine. These people will first be sent to the neighboring countries of Ukraine by land. Then from there, they will be brought back to India by special flights of Air India. The first such evacuation flights were sent to Romania and Hungary today. India has held talks with Hungary, Poland, Slovak Republic and Romania to evacuate its citizens from Ukraine’s borders via land route.
Air India’s plane, which left from Delhi to Bucharest to bring back Indians stranded in Ukraine, has reached Delhi airport at 1.:50 am on Sunday night. According to sources, the chances of the aircraft coming from Ukraine arriving in Delhi today are very less. About 490 passengers will be brought to Delhi in both the planes reaching Delhi tomorrow. Most of these are students. Whereas sources said that an Air India flight has landed in Bucharest, Romania.
All necessary preparations are being completed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) for Indians coming from Ukraine. So that young Indian students returning from Ukraine can be easily sent to their homes. Air India’s AI1944 flight is reaching Mumbai today carrying Indians stranded in Ukraine. According to the guidelines set by the government, the Airport Health Organization (APHO) team will check the health of the passengers at the airport. Passengers will have to show a Covid-19 vaccination certificate or negative RT-PCR report. If someone does not have either of the two, then they will have an RT-PCR test at the airport itself. The airport will bear its cost. If a passenger is found covid positive, then he will be treated as per the prescribed covid protocol. Apart from this, a special seating area has been earmarked for students arriving at CSMIA airport from Ukraine. All of them will get all the necessary help.
