Muzaffarpur: A one-way traffic system has been implemented in Tilak Maidan Road of the city for the construction of drain under the Smart City Plan. Municipal Commissioner Vivek Ranjan Maitreya issued the order on Friday. The concerned contractor has been given an ultimatum to complete the work within 15 days.
According to the order issued by the Municipal Commissioner, the construction of a road and drain is to be done from Station Road to Akharaghat via Tilak Maidan. In the first phase, a drain is to be constructed from the city police station to the youth committee. Therefore, for a one-way arrangement, the agency has been directed to start work by installing iron barricades at a distance of 20 meters.
Road and drain is to be constructed from Motijheel Adarsh Nagar police station to Harisbha Chowk via Kalyani Chowk through Smart City Project, the work of which has been started by the agency on behalf of Harisbha Chowk. Soon the culvert will be constructed near Kalyani Chowk. Apart from this, beautification of Kalyani Chowk has to be done. For this, the road will have to be completely blocked from 15 days to a month. The Municipal Commissioner said that soon after taking permission from the DM, the construction of the culvert would be started by blocking the road.
