No more rounds to the police station, an online portal for character certificates

Now the people of the state will not have to make rounds to the police station to get their character certificate. It will now be made available to everyone to be able to apply for a character certificate sitting at home and a digital copy will be furnished to them which can be accessed from home. On Tuesday, the technical department of the Bihar Police Headquarters confirmed this information. The Home Department was working on this arrangement for the last two and a half months, which has turned out to be successful. From November 1, the system of making character certificates online will be implemented in the entire Bihar. IG and DIG level officers will be able to monitor the online system of making character certificates.

If an application is rejected in the portal, then its information will go to the IG and DIG of the concerned area. Service Plus portal has been created with the help of NIC i.e. National Informatics Center to generate online character certificates. The character certificates will be available online in 14 days under the authority of Bihar Public Service after the applicant fills the form available online.
Recently, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Home Department. In this meeting, NIC had assured that the portal has been completely repaired. This system was implemented under trial in West Champaran, Gaya, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Purnia, and Saharsa. All the bugs that were found during the trial period have been repaired. Along with this, preparations have also been made to develop the facility of multiple signatures for issuing character certificates of more than one candidate in the portal.
