In the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has planned to go all-digital, in order to reach out to the maximum number of people. Meetings are to be held in every five villages of a constituency through LED screens. Therefore, the party will be able to hold 100 meetings at a time. “This will be our effort towards ensuring social distancing in view of COVID-19,” BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said in Bodh Gaya.
Starting October 23, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will be holding 12 rallies in Bihar and will be accompanied by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Over four lakh BJP workers will be equipped with smartphones and over 10,000 social media commandos to relay the rallies to a wider audience in the state while maintaining the COVID-19 social distancing norms.
“The designated social media ‘commandos’ and the four lakhs ‘smartphone warriors will hold the charge of showing Modi’s speeches in every nook and corner of the state,” as per news by Times Now.
“A lot of enthusiasm is seen among people, wherever we go in Bihar and take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name. The country and its people have placed their trust in PM Modi. This trust will benefit not only us but also our allies,” Fadnavis said on Sunday.
The Bihar Assembly elections are to be held in three phases, starting October 28. The second and third phase of elections will be held on November 3 and 7 and results will be declared on November 10.
The BJP and the Janata Dal (United) in Bihar are in an alliance, and the two sides have agreed to contest 121-122 seats in the 243-seater Bihar Assembly. The JD(U) has, in turn, given some seats to Hindustani Awaam Morcha of Jitin Ram Manjhi from its quota.
